Blame it on the bet by L.E. Rico is the first book in Whisky Sister's series. The series is about four sisters named after Whisky brands. The series takes place in Mayhem where they own a pub. Hennessey is the star of Blame it on the Bet. She is trying to keep the pub from the hands of Bryan Truitt.
Hennessey is an attorney who gets called home for a family emergency to do with the family Pub. She no longer wants to be an attorney so this is just what the doctor ordered. Until she realizes that she has got to figure out a way to come with a hundred grand because her father mortgaged the pub with no one's knowledge. She could easily sell the pub to come up with the money but she would rather run it.
Bryan Truitt is a real estate developer. He wants to purchase the pub to put a cinema complex in it's place. He had a pretty much done deal with Mr. O'Halloran but now he has to convince the man's daughters to sell to him. They have to see reason that this little small town needs a cinema more than it needs an Irish pub right?
The quick banter and opposites attract in Blame it on the bet make this book amazing. It kept me absolutely enchanted and not wanting to put it down. I can not wait to go back to Mayhem and see what the next adventure the Whisky Sisters take us on is gonna be.
