The Day He Went Away is the second book of Jennifer Millikin's I have read. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. This book to me had all the makings of a wonderful happily ever after but mid way through the book took a Nicholas Sparks turn. I feel that it left much to be desired. It took me a while to get into the book and once I did it just devastated me.
